To some, singer-songwriter Jenna Torres is a study in contrasts, but she doesn’t see it that way. “I guess being a New York City girl and a country music artist might seem like a contradiction,” she says, “but to me the big city is the heartland. Every day I’m surrounded by 8 million stories and 8 million hearts.” After releasing her self-titled indie debut, Torres landed a publishing deal with Warner/Chappell Music. An early composition, “Busted Heart,” landed in the Top 10 on three Christian charts for alt-rock duo For King and Country. Torres collaborated with songwriter-producer Billy Smiley (Johnny Cash, CeCe Winans) to record her new album, A Woman’s Touch. “One of the greatest things about being a songwriter is the more living and loving you do, the more songs you have to write and sing,” she says. “This record is a celebration of my life in song.”
