In 1978, Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta were that too-cute couple from the blockbuster film Grease, not to mention its smash single “You’re the One That I Want.” Nearly 35 years later, they’re back with This Christmas, a 13-track collection of holiday faves that features such special guests as Tony Bennett (“Winter Wonderland”), Barbra Streisand (“I’ll Be Home for Christmas”) and James Taylor (“Deck the Halls”). Much like the song selection, the arrangements and instrumentation have an old-school feel, with the gently soaring strings and big band horns. As expected, it’s innocent, predictable and charming, but don’t be surprised if This Christmas becomes your guilty pleasure of the season. –Nancy Dunham
