The Stomp Classic picks up where Peterson, the world’s oldest tuner manufacturer, left off with the immensely popular StroboStomp line. While the buttery smooth Virtual Strobe tuning is fast and accurate, Peterson has gone to town extending the feature set. The Stomp Classic features a massive range of “sweetener” presets for tuning virtually any electric stringed instrument, regardless of the number of strings. Drop-tuning functionality extends down six half-steps, while capo tunings extend up five. The active DI is another carryover from the StroboStomp that has been improved. Powered by battery, AC or phantom, the DI now features a ground lift and three levels of input attenuation. Other smart features include the quick-release battery compartment access, USB connectivity and pedal board mounting lugs.
