Effectively the mischievous older sibling of founding frontman David Lowrey\u2019s other famous band, Cracker, CVB sounds as if they never went on hiatus. Following in the lyrical footsteps of its best-known songs\u2014\u201dWhere the Hell Is Bill?\u201d and \u201cTake the Skinheads Bowling\u201d\u2014the group shows it\u2019s matured without losing its satirical edge or musical dexterity. Although the album was inspired by the hippies of \u201960s Northern California, the band explores more than mere classic rock. Ska meets the Grateful Dead on \u201cPeaches in the Summertime,\u201d while \u201cYou Got to Roll\u201d is a blues-infused mash-up of Jimi Hendrix and Curtis Mayfield.
