Such is the message, evident in both the bummed-out lyrics and washed-out music, of this former model\u2019s debut album. Villain\u2014a half-Mexican, half-Norwegian beauty who has graced such magazines as Glamour and Vogue\u2014plays guitar, bass, keyboards and drum machines, and she approaches them all in much the same way. The instruments coalesce into a disorienting fog of reverb and fuzz, and from this cloud, Villain sings of wanting to \u201cescape the madness\u201d and \u201cdream again.\u201d Most of these tunes play like Nirvana\u2019s \u201cLithium\u201d on lithium, though scraggily standout \u201cKingwoman\u201d finds her more switched on than burned out, crowning herself \u201cking of the night.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>CARMEN VILLAIN Sleeper myspace.com\/carmenvillain Even pretty people get the blues.
