A decade after the Zippers\u2019 demise, Mathus isn\u2019t doing anything quite as radical or conceptual. <em>White Buffalo<\/em> is a genre record, the genre being Southern\u2014a sweaty, twangy sound informed by country, folk, gospel, soul and good ol\u2019 rock \u2019n\u2019 roll.
