On their sixth album, the German thrash mainstays wage war against the government (\u201cBrutalized\u201d), the media (\u201cBrainwashed\u201d), mental illness (\u201cFragile Alliance\u201d) and the idea of war itself (\u201cEscalation\u201d). They wield the typical heavy metal weapons\u2014shamelessly brazen broad-sword riffs, charging double-bass-kick rhythms, supersonic tempos, medieval acoustic interludes\u2014but they keep it dynamic and melodic enough to avoid pummeling listeners into early submission.
