Frontman Mick Chorba, who also leads the Dipsomaniacs, has gradually made the Successful Failures his primary focus\u2014and their fourth album, <em>Three Nights<\/em>, offers plenty of reasons why. The key to their success basically boils down to effusive, irresistible melodies that linger even after the first hearing. Whether it\u2019s the jaunty sing-along strum of \u201cAberdeen,\u201d the sprightly refrain of \u201cWaiting for a Ride\u201d or the surging harmonies of \u201cHouston, We Have a Drinking Problem,\u201d these songs are all energized and adroitly executed.
