The opening trio of \u201cKeep Using Me,\u201d \u201cShrinking Violet\u201d and \u201cFree\u201d are you-go-girl female empowerment anthems, and in a way, so is \u201cBad Seed,\u201d co-written by legendary songsmith Al Anderson. That one centers on a politician\u2019s daughter who smokes weed and chases musical dreams, much to her family\u2019s chagrin. Bishop is less playful on \u201cThe Best Songs Come From Broken Hearts,\u201d but her conviction offsets the obviousness of the lyrics. On rollicking closer \u201cRight Where You Are\u201d Bishop tells some buds to stop worrying and enjoy life.
