The ambiguity is down to this young Belfast singer-songwriter\u2019s earnest lyricism and angelic old-soul vocals. On his promising debut, Davison enlists hip-hop producer Homecut to flesh out his acoustic tunes with snatches of electronic drums, upright bass and piano. The latter is particularly effective on \u201cHard but Good,\u201d as the chords ring like chimes on a clock to remind listener and narrator alike that love moves slowly and rewards the patient.
