In fact, they\u2019ve gotten even better at it\u2014tracks like \u201cVictoria\u201d and \u201cSituation Infatuation\u201d could pass for a sped-up Fountains of Wayne minus a little wit. The expert tunefulness helps distract from the record\u2019s emotionally muddled, seemingly grab-bag messages.
