The chemistry among Marcus Mosely, Will Sanders and Ron Small was immediate, and the group made its debut as the Sojourners with 2007\u2019s <em>Hold On<\/em>. The self-titled follow-up is an irresistible set filled with robust performances, easygoing charm and a joyous spirit that even the most hardened nonbeliever would have trouble dismissing. Whether taking on traditional songs like \u201cBrother Moses Smote the Water\u201d or the more contemporary likes of Los Lobos\u2019 \u201cThe Neighborhood,\u201d the Sojourners dig into these tunes with unrestrained devotion. Producer Steve Dawson smartly frames the three central voices with supportive instrumentation that appropriately carries echoes of roadhouse R&amp;B and blues.
