It\u2019s a concept that has always been applicable to jazz, and it hasn\u2019t been lost on drummer Rob Garcia, leader of this Brooklyn foursome. Although Garcia sometimes cannonballs in, asserting his virtuosity with splashes of intense, restless playing, he\u2019s plenty good at going with the flow. On the aptly titled \u201cRiver,\u201d tenor saxophonist Noah Preminger floats velvety tones over a relatively smooth rhythm, while \u201cHumility\u201d proves spacious enough for pianist Dan Tepfer and bassist John Hebert to paddle out front.
