Inspired by the weather, scenery and local Catholic choirs, he partnered with Daniel Tjader\u2014keyboardist for the stellar dream-pop outfit the Radio Dept.\u2014to recreate the tropical vibes. The duo retains the melodic aspects of Tjader\u2019s main band but ditches the verse-chorus formalism, creating frothy, free-flowing, feel-good electronic pop. Highlights \u201cAs Young as Yesterday\u201d and \u201cComin\u2019 Closer\u201d get by on sheer utopian spirit.
