On the title track, he describes in suspicious detail a serial killer\u2019s exploits. Levy\u2019s narrator might be the guilty party, or in a metaphorical sense, he might just sympathize with the \u201ccardiophile\u201d and his hunger for human hearts. Either way, it\u2019s a rare moment of darkness from this former Norah Jones guitarist. Levy specializes in genial acoustic folk-pop, and on highlights \u201cThis Is the Sound\u201d and \u201cPromised Land\u201d\u2014both about the joys of making music\u2014he\u2019s more concerned with telling good stories than crafting tidy rhymes or choruses.
