In that time he\u2019s continually proven himself as a guitarist and repeatedly shown his respect for tradition as well as a willingness to evolve beyond it. On most of <em>How I Go<\/em> Shepherd assuredly reaches for a bigger, slicker, harder rock sound. That\u2019s clear from the first blazing licks of \u201cNever Lookin\u2019 Back,\u201d whose title and lyrical story of forward motion may or may not be a veiled message to his fans. Shepherd is still a blues guitarist at heart\u2014his covers of the Beatles\u2019 \u201cYer Blues\u201d and Albert King\u2019s \u201cOh, Pretty Woman\u201d smoke.
