Even so, 2009\u2019s unfocused <em>Living Thing<\/em>, felt like a victim of the sophomore slump. They\u2019ve shrugged it off on their latest with 11 catchy pop tunes that are punchier than a boxing gym on fight night. Guitars bob and weave on \u201cDig a Little Deeper,\u201d sting on \u201cBlack Book\u201d and take terse jabs at the face on \u201cBreaker Breaker,\u201d where singer Peter Mor\u00e9n promises to \u201cbreak your nose and sing about it.\u201d Along with jaunty hooks, the trio has a fondness for strong beats, and every song on the album (including slow jam \u201cDown Like Me\u201d) comes propelled by a big, bold rhythm track. Strong hooks and fast, nimble rhythms make for a winning combination. Maybe not a knockout, but <em>Gimme Some<\/em> is a solid victory. \u2013Eric R.
