The French sextet is clearly acquainted with that touchstone of classic pop, but Brian Wilson\u2019s masterwork isn\u2019t the only influence on this music. Most of the tracks here combine \u201980s synth-pop with modern R&amp;B, satisfying both the \u201cpast\u201d and \u201cpresent\u201d parts of the disc\u2019s title; Tahiti 80 pulls off its genre fusions with ease.
