It\u2019s interesting to note that Britten played guitars, bass, LinnDrum and did background vocals, and produced the song. In February 1985, the song received three awards at the Grammy Awards: Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mmusicmag.com\/m\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/Ian-Flanigan-01.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-21241\" src=\"https:\/\/mmusicmag.com\/m\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/Ian-Flanigan-01.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"660\" height=\"441\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mmusicmag.com\/m\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/Ian-Flanigan-01.jpg 660w, https:\/\/mmusicmag.com\/m\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/Ian-Flanigan-01-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 660px) 100vw, 660px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>To commemorate the 40<sup>th<\/sup> anniversary of the song, Ian Flanigan (with Lenesha Randolph) recorded this new version, saying \u201cI\u2019m a huge Tina Turner fan and \u2018What\u2019s Love Got to Do with It\u2019 has always been one of my favorite songs of hers.\u00a0The production is great and the bridge was always really unexpected for me, musically.\u00a0Tina and I have completely different voices, so my producer Jon Stone and I thought it would be fun to pay homage to her and put our own spin on her song. It\u2019s Tina\u2019s 40th anniversary for \u2018What\u2019s Love Got to Do with It\u201d and I can remember back to when I was a kid first hearing her and this song. I just remember how much energy she had, and how rocking her vocals were. She\u2019s been such an inspiration for me and the whole music world.\u00a0It\u2019s always an honor to cover one of her songs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ian Flanigan\u2019s gritty vocals add a steely-edged meaning to the lyrics of this Tina Turner classic on the 40<sup>th<\/sup> anniversary of the song\u2019s original release.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mmusicmag.com\/m\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/Ian-Flanigan-02-artwork.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-21242\" src=\"https:\/\/mmusicmag.com\/m\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/Ian-Flanigan-02-artwork.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"660\" height=\"660\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mmusicmag.com\/m\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/Ian-Flanigan-02-artwork.jpg 660w, https:\/\/mmusicmag.com\/m\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/Ian-Flanigan-02-artwork-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/mmusicmag.com\/m\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/Ian-Flanigan-02-artwork-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 660px) 100vw, 660px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Flanigan found fame by becoming Blake Shelton\u2019s finalist on NBC\u2019s The Voice, where he was dubbed a \u201conce-in-a-lifetime vocalist\u201d by Shelton. Since that time, he has released an album with chart-topping singles (\u201cGrow Up\u201d reached #5 on the US iTunes sales chart, approaching 3 million streams), extensively toured with the likes of Trace Adkins and Chris Janson, and will release his sophomore album, with more singles and videos being released this year. He has been featured on CMT, RFD-TV, Fox News, Whiskey Riff, The Music Universe, Country Now, Everything Nash, <em>Entertainment Tonight<\/em>, <em>People<\/em> magazine, <em>USA Today<\/em>, Yahoo News, and The Wrap.<\/p>\n<p>Slow, stoic, southern grace is how Ian can be accurately described. He is humble yet focused, peaceful but engaged, and undisputedly talented. For the last decade, he has toured his distinct voice and evocative lyrics across America, with a country sound reminiscent of Joe Cocker and Chris Stapleton.<\/p>\n<p>Flanigan represents Taylor Guitars, Lucchese, Kicker Audio, and Suerte Tequila, as a brand ambassador, gains exposure as a Reviver Publishing writer in Nashville, and released his debut album <em>Strong<\/em> in 2022 on Reviver Records.
