Veteran photographer Jeff Fasano has six (6) days to go for his Kickstarter campaign\u2014to publish his first fine-art book: AMERICANA PORTRAIT SESSIONS<\/em>.<\/p>\n

For a $100 pledge, you can choose to get an autographed copy of his book and a choice of a signed B&W Silver Gelatin Print (one of six B&W photos). There are also options for one of three Color Fine Art Pigment Photo Prints. Today, we feature the back story of one of the prints.<\/p>\n

We talked with Jeff Fasano about his portrait of JOHN OATES<\/u><\/strong>:
\n\u201cThat was shot at AmericanaFest before his show at City Winery. I photographed John a whole bunch of times\u2014and it was always about him looking directly at the camera. I know John\u2019s a great guitar player, so I told him, \u2018You\u2019re such a great guitar player and I want to show that side of you. I don\u2019t want you to look at me. I just want you to play your guitar because I want people to remember how good a guitar player you really are. Everyone is always focused on your songs, your stage persona and your hits like \u2018Maneater.\u2019 But to me you\u2019re a great guitar player. I\u2019ve watched you play guitar. I want to get a shot where the world can see that John Oates is more than a rock \u2019n\u2019 roll hall of fame guy\u2014he\u2019s a great guitar player.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
