Harte\u2019s new EP,&nbsp;<em>Home Recordings<\/em>, was recorded during quarantine and is available on Apple Music and Spotify. These recordings bare the honest songwriting that is evident in her haunting, emotive vocals. When she does an evocative cover of Credence Clearwater Revival\u2019s \u201cHave You Ever Seen the Rain\u201d\u2014you can taste the tender emotion of the song\u2019s lyrics.<br><br>This Thursday night, Rachael Sage, a self-described \u201ccancer thriver\u201d&nbsp;will bring together a powerful group of performers for a great cause\u2014to raise funds for Foundation for Women\u2019s Cancer. He came up with the gorgeous part on the recording. I then just added the vocals and it was basically done\u2014the beauty of having an EP called\u00a0<em>Home Recordings<\/em>. I am so happy to be part of Bravery on Fire and to show my support through the power of music. Rachael is a dear friend of mine and I am honored to be playing the event.<br><br><strong>How did the idea for \u201cAuburn\u201d come to you?<br><\/strong>I wrote the song about the saying \u201cthe grass is always greener.\u201d It\u2019s about how we are always wondering what\u2019s next\u2014so much so that we sometimes miss the moment that we\u2019re in. The time at home definitely inspired me. On earlier recordings, I would get a lot of opinions from band members, friends and producers\u2014which I very much appreciated. But sometimes, I got a bit lost in what I wanted the songs to sound like. This project is all me. It gave me the chance to settle down at home and make something that felt honest and true to myself. When lockdown happened, I knew the whole project was going to be acoustic. With each song I write, I want to be more and more involved in the end product. Lately, I am learning to make the most of what I have. So if I can\u2019t get out and about to work with people, I\u2019ll jump on zoom or whatever.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>In this unique socio-political time, how do you remain hopeful?<br><\/strong>I am hopeful that things are going in the right direction. It\u2019s just a slow process. My generation and others to come are strong and we will fight for change\u2014so that inspires me to be hopeful.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Who originally inspired you to write songs?<br><\/strong>I love Dolly Parton and her music definitely inspired me to write.<br><br><strong>What songwriting tip would you like to offer?<br><\/strong>Always finish something when you start it. If you\u2019re in a creative flow, you shouldn\u2019t let things get in the way of it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What instruments\/equipment can you not live without?<\/strong><br>I couldn\u2019t live without my Takamine guitar, my interface and microphone. I use them pretty much every day.\u00a0I have always really connected with Takamine guitars. I started learning guitar on one when I was 12 years old and have been playing them since.
