Their appealing melodies aim for accessibility, and radiant textures and breezy harmonies make <em>Mini Mansions<\/em> feel spacious. At times the L.A.-based band\u2019s members seem intent on proving their skill at shaping soundscapes, especially on songs like \u201cMonk\u201d and \u201cThe Room Outside.\u201d That comes with the territory, since the bands they emulate\u2014the Beatles and ELO in particular\u2014were known for their production prowess.
