He started a YouTube channel when he was 16, and it\u2019s now the fifth largest drum channel in the world. Over the past nine years, each of his videos has garnered between a few hundred thousand views to millions of views. Just last month, he hit 70 million views\u2014with over 340,000 subscribers.<\/p>\n<p>You will want to check out Holland\u2019s most popular YouTube video\u2014his drum remix of Skrillex\u2019s \u201cCinema\u201d (titled Luke Holland \u2013 Skrillex \u2013 Cinema Drum Remix), which has grossed over 5.6 million views since January 12, 2012.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-18485\" src=\"https:\/\/mmusicmag.com\/m\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Luke-Holland-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"660\" height=\"989\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mmusicmag.com\/m\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Luke-Holland-1.jpg 660w, https:\/\/mmusicmag.com\/m\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Luke-Holland-1-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/mmusicmag.com\/m\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Luke-Holland-1-300x450.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 660px) 100vw, 660px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Despite his father being a professional drummer, Luke gained interest in the drums at the age if 10 after hearing his neighbor playing. It was around that time he got his first drum kit. Self-taught, he played the snare drum for little over a year in the Peoria High School marching band.<\/p>\n<p>At the age of 15, after playing for local band Oceans Will Part, Holland took to self-promotion online, launching a YouTube channel in July 2009. Under the name\u00a0LukeHollandDrums,\u00a0he would post drum covers and remixes, and started to gain more views on his videos, along with more subscribers. At the age of 16, he got a chance to stand-in as the drummer for Texas in July. His YouTube page grabbed the attention of Josh Chomik, a fellow YouTuber known for his comedy music. His popularity increased immensely, going from a thousand subscribers to over nine thousand subscribers within a few days.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-18483\" src=\"https:\/\/mmusicmag.com\/m\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Luke-Holland-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"660\" height=\"990\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mmusicmag.com\/m\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Luke-Holland-2.jpg 660w, https:\/\/mmusicmag.com\/m\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Luke-Holland-2-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/mmusicmag.com\/m\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Luke-Holland-2-300x450.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 660px) 100vw, 660px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Holland is a session drummer who gives drum lessons, and does the occasional touring. In 2013, he was voted third on <em>Alternative Press<\/em>\u2019 Drummer of the Year, and second for <em>Modern Drummer<\/em>\u2019s Up &amp; Coming. In 2014, Holland, along with Issues\u00a0vocalist Tyler Carter,\u00a0contributed a cover of Paramore\u2019s hit song \u201cAin\u2019t It Fun\u201d\u00a0for the Fearless Records compilation <em>Punk Goes Pop Vol. 6<\/em>.
