Still, she explores her own path often enough on <em>Farmer\u2019s Daughter<\/em> to stake a claim to a promising recording career. After a feisty opener, the top-down roadhouse rocker \u201cRidin\u2019 With the Radio,\u201d Bowersox stumbles with a ham-fisted cover of Buffalo Springfield\u2019s \u201cFor What It\u2019s Worth.\u201d But she quickly rights matters with a soulful delivery of her own poignant ballad \u201cHoly Toledo,\u201d an emotional portrait of small-town restlessness.
