A skilled pianist and adept arranger, Lanz transforms \u201cThings We Said Today,\u201d \u201cYes It Is\u201d and \u201cLovely Rita\u201d into elegiac mini-suites that successfully transform those tunes without causing offense to the definitive versions. Lanz successfully stakes out a common thread through his own compositions. Newly penned entries like \u201cLondon Skies: A John Lennon Suite\u201d sample the spirit of the Beatles\u2019 music while morphing it into something else entirely.
