He had an energy that, for me, was a benchmark for being in the moment.\u201d It was a satisfying shoot for Seeff. \u201cEvery frame has its own character,\u201d he says. \u201cHe was willing to be vulnerable and fully engaged and not hold anything back. We bonded right away.\u201d The two hit it off so well that Womack concocted a scheme to celebrate Seeff\u2019s birthday just months later. \u201cHe dragged me from my office studio to a cube truck waiting outside,\u201d recalls Seeff. \u201cIt turned out to be Sly Stone\u2019s recording van.
