Featuring Eimerman on bass, joined by Swedish guitarist Magnus Karlsson and Aussie drummer Joe Algeri, the Britannicas\u2019 self-titled debut overflows with ear candy and retro touches. The soaring harmonies that grace \u201cThose Good Vibrations\u201d suggest the Byrds referencing the Beach Boys. Similarly, \u201cFriday Night Alright (Come Out and Play)\u201d replays the Easybeats\u2019 \u201cFriday on my Mind\u201d as if retooled by Buddy Holly. And the three songs that end the set\u2014\u201dBlue Sky Grey,\u201d \u201cLove Trap\u201d and \u201cThe Other Side\u201d\u2014mine the Moody Blues. With each band member being a superb songwriter and an instrumental multitasker, the album is a thoroughly collaborative effort.
