Not so surprisingly, the music on 2011\u2019s <i>Unbroken<\/i> took a serious turn. On her fourth album, the 20-year-old pop singer and <i>X Factor<\/i> judge is still in a reflective mood, but with a brighter outlook this time. And as its title implies, <i>Demi<\/i> is supposed to be a personal affair, a record filled with inspirational pick-me-ups and big revelatory moments delivered in (mostly) big significant songs. But Lovato\u2019s personality gets lost among the dozen writers and producers who stitch it all together. It doesn\u2019t help that everyone from Miley Cyrus to Katy Perry to Rihanna can be heard in <i>Demi<\/i>\u2019s radio-ready tracks. The best ones\u2014\u201cHeart Attack,\u201d \u201cReally Don\u2019t Care,\u201d \u201cSomething That We\u2019re Not\u201d\u2014pump up the beats and play down the pep talk.
