On his latest album\u2014the umpteenth in a career rife with accolades and collaborations with genre greats\u2014the 66-year-old hangs with good-time girls (\u201cRosa Lee\u201d) and strolls on the dark side (\u201cRun With the Devil\u201d). Whether living it up feeling low-down, MacLeod charms with affected Southern street-rat vocals and taut, tasteful, virtuosic acoustic guitar playing. \u201cDubb\u2019s Talking Religion Blues\u201d is a sly hoot with a great message and kicker of a closing line.
