This Friday the headliners include\u00a0<\/b>AKRON\/FAMILY<\/a><\/b>,\u00a0PEAKING LIGHTS<\/a><\/b>,\u00a0along with an extremely rare Los Angeles appearance and performance by<\/b>\u00a0Lonnie Holley<\/a><\/b>. \u00a0Holley\u00a0has been making music for some 30 years. \u00a0“He\u00a0sings with an intense, emotional voice and unleashes lyrics without consistent meter or rhyme over gossamer keyboard lines that hang in the ether. His music is a blues nebula, splotched with riffy word jazz that shares in some rappers\u2019 collagist aesthetics as well as the runaway passion of a gospel preacher enlivened by the Spirit. \u00a0Just Before Music<\/em><\/a>\u00a0is aptly titled since Holley restrains himself from too much conventional musicality\u2014melody and that sort of thing. (aquariumdrunkard.com<\/a>).” \u00a0The 63-year-old\u00a0artist and musician’s upcoming second album,\u00a0Keeping a Record of It<\/i>, will be released September 3 via the\u00a0Dust to Digital<\/a>\u00a0label. The album also features contributions from\u00a0Bradford Cox<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Cole Alexander\u00a0of\u00a0Black Lips<\/a>.<\/div>\n
