A Dallas-based acoustic folkie heads back to his birthplace, Southern California, and makes a textured electric record indebted to the Byrds, Tom Petty and other sunshine strummers. That some of the songs are bum-outs hardly matters as Altobelli’s voice soothes, and this stuff is sublime.
