The FAT Philosopher combines two widely acclaimed Pigtronix pedals into a single super-versatile tone machine capable of pumping out all the sustain and overdrive any guitarist could ask for. On the overdrive side, there are all the goodies that go with the Pigtronix FAT Drive, most notably a cascading-diode-based gain-mashing system that ranges from bluesy breakup to over-the-top metal solo tones with the flip of a switch and tweak of a knob. Meanwhile the Philosopher’s Rock side provides nearly endless clean sustain plus the option to engage a Germanium-transformer-based Grit control for frothy, fuzz-style distortion. Best of all both sides offer independent footswitches, adding an extra layer of live performance flexibility.
