Jason Reeves fell in love with music as a teenager, and eventually dropped out of college to head for California in 2005 and pursue a career as a singer and songwriter. “All songs exist in the atmosphere,” he says, “and artists are on a romantic search to pull them down and give them life.” He met fellow singer and songwriter Colbie Caillat during a recording session with her producer, Mikal Blue, and wound up co-writing 10 of the 12 songs on her double-platinum 2007 debut, Coco. Reeves’ own big break came when Warner Bros. Records signed him in 2008 and

re-released his independent 2007 effort The Magnificent Adventures of Heartache (and Other Frightening Tales…). Reeves’ upcoming album, The Lovesick, features songwriting collaborations with Caillat and former American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi (who signed him to Warner Bros.). “I’m just a simple boy,” he says, “who believes in love and dreams.”
