SQUINT

Goodnight, Bad Intentions

squint.com

A feisty, hard-rocking outfit that defies expectations for a band from southern Texas, Squint veers closer to Rush than rockabilly. “I’m looking for a new frustration,” they assert on opening track “We All Break the Same.” Later when they wail, “I’m really looking forward to depression” (on “Elisabeth”), it becomes increasingly evident that this is indeed a band that makes the most of its angst. Mostly though, Goodnight, Bad Intentions is propelled by the drive and determination of its whiplash grooves, angular hooks and didactic posturing. Squint enters the fray with eyes wide open.
