The A-300PRO combines Cakewalk’s lauded software compatibility and universality with Roland’s decades of experience.
FOR: Keyboard players. In the world of MIDI controllers, expressivity is key. The plug-and-play USB connection and dedicated transport controls are great features for home recording and production, but rarely do we see such responsive, musical action in a 32-key controller. Nine knobs, nine sliders and eight dynamic pads increase the playability of virtual instruments like Rapture LE, Cakewalk Sound Center and Studio Instruments Drums, which are included with the A-300PRO Production Plus Pack. Cakewalk’s SONAR 8.5 LE (for PC) is also included and makes a great soft-synth/recording studio. The backlit buttons and LED display make it easy to see what’s happening whether in the studio or on a dark stage.
NOT FOR: Synthesis. The A-PRO series keyboards are MIDI controllers, meaning they have no onboard sounds and must drive a computer or keyboard module to generate audio.
